What is Eta Sigma Delta?

Eta Sigma Delta is the only internationally-recognized Honor Society focused on the discipline of hospitality. The organization recognizes hospitality students who have demonstrated excellence in their academic performance, professionalism, and their commitment to service within the community. With over 90 chapters around the world, our UNLV chapter focuses on helping students connect to chapters globally, expanding their networks to the farthest reaches. Within ICHRIE and Eta Sigma Delta alone, students will have the opportunity to gain insight into the industry through hands-on projects and community service led by industry experts.

Who's Eligible?

Any student that meets the following requirement is eligible to join Eta Sigma Delta.

1. Must have declared hospitality as a his/her major
2. Must have at least 25% of the credits completed for graduation
3. Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher

How to Join?

UNLV students can join Eta Sigma Delta through a one time membership fee of $50. All students who qualify are encouraged to apply. You may view the application online. Applications can be submitted to esdhonorsociety.unlv@gmail.com.

Events

Throughout the academic year, ESD hosts events for members, such as Breaking Barriers, Dine with Alumni, Social Study with ESD, and an Initiation Ceremony. Some events are open to all students within the hospitality college, such as ESD Talks. All of our events include networking with industry professionals and fellow student leaders.
