A team of researchers at the Desert Research Institute and UNLV is joining forces with other regional universities to study climate challenges in the water-scarce Southwest as part of the project funded by the National Science Foundation.

UNLV President Keith Whitfield was among those honored.

It has been almost two months since a deadly shooting at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas left three university staff members dead.

The newly-formed UNLV Committee on Safety and Security, which includes students, staff, faculty and administrators, is continuing to meet to discuss safety and security policies and programming at the university.

UNLV used this donation and worked with Allied Esports to transform a social lounge into a high-tech gaming center for both the experienced esports athlete as well as the passing enthusiast.

In a Jan. 12 letter to students posted on UNLV’s website, UNLV President Keith Whitfield said that he had established a Committee on Campus Security and Safety to “review existing security measures and develop and implement a comprehensive safety infrastructure plan.” He also revealed that extra security will be present on campus in the form of university police as well as a private security firm.

As part of the university's Rebel Recovery Program, a Tribal Nations Healing Ceremony was held at the Alumni Amphitheater this afternoon.
