"We are not there yet but we are not doing bad." Those are the words of University of Nevada, Las Vegas president Dr. Keith Whitfield during his annual State of the University address following the deadly campus shooting of December 6.

UNLV President Keith Whitfield used his annual State of the University address Tuesday to talk about steps the school is taking to prevent future violence like December's shooting that left three professors dead.

UNLV President Keith Whitfield wrapped up his fourth State of the University Address. Tuesday's biggest topic of discussion was the deadly December shooting on campus.

Dr. Whitfield also discussed the healing that has occurred after last year's shooting on campus.

UNLV President Keith Whitfield will remain on the job for another four years. The Nevada Board of Regents voted to approve a new contract during a Friday meeting at Desert Research Institute in Las Vegas. 

UNLV President Keith E. Whitfield’s four-year contract was renewed Friday by the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE), according to a news release.

The UNLV president is extending his time with the school. The Board of Regents of the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) renewed the four-year contract for President Keith E. Whitfield on Friday. 

University of Nevada, Las Vegas President Keith E. Whitfield will continue to lead the university for the next four years.
