We look forward to supporting you along the way to ensure you are ready for your first semester at UNLV!

New Student Orientation Overview

Your New Student Orientation program consists of two sessions: Veteran Victory Session and New Student Orientation.

Session 1: New Student Orientation

Virtual and In-Person Sessions Available

Be sure to register for your orientation session through your MyUNLV account. You will see both in-person and virtual options throughout the summer.

Before attending orientation, you must complete the Military & Veteran Transition and Online Pre-Orientation courses on WebCampus. Both courses will introduce you to life as a UNLV student.

A one-time orientation fee will apply to all incoming students.

Session 2: Rebel Veteran Transition Orientation

January 10, 2024 (In-Person)

You'll learn about the services available to help you succeed, discover academic enrichment opportunities, and connect with our peer-to-peer network and fellow incoming students.

New Student Orientation Handbook

Please read your New Student Orientation Handbook, which includes student support resources for future reference and details regarding important policies. You’ll also receive a physical copy of the handbook at your orientation session.

Academic Advising

Establishing a relationship with an academic advisor ensures that you meet degree requirements and accomplish your personal and educational goals.

VA benefit users who wish to qualify for full-time housing allowance are required to enroll in a minimum of 12 credits (undergraduate) or 9 credits (graduate) each semester. At least one class spanning the full semester must be classified as campus-based to receive the local housing rate.

Family and Guests

Family members and guests are invited to attend UNLV Family Orientation. This unique program will address the priorities and questions that family members typically have.
