Col. Jacqueline Killian (Nursing) received the TSNRP Scientific Mentorship Award in the Active Duty category. Currently an Air Force intern with UNLV Nursing, she will transition to full-time faculty later this year upon her retirement from the Air Force.

UNLV Nursing was recognized by the Las Vegas City Council with a special proclamation making April 20, 2022, UNLV School of Nursing Day. The proclamation honors the work of UNLV Nursing while addressing the importance of nurses in our community.

Hope Hinchman, Karen Eisenburg, Jacquelin Killian  and 19 students (all Nursing) have been inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Hinchman will be the vice president of UNLV's chapter. Eisenburg will be UNLV's counselor. Killian will serve as a member of the Succession Committee.

Jennifer Peltier (Nursing) won Best Poster at the 2022 Western Institute of Nursing Conference for her work on implementing and evaluating virtual escape rooms. She is a doctoral student.

Amanda Gutierrez and Janelle Rafanan (both Nursing) were named to the national board of the National Student Nurses Association (NSNA). Both are undergraduates. Gutierrez was named NSNA director. Rafanan was named to the Nomination and Election Committee.
