Jennifer Vanderlaan (Nursing) and Jay Shen (Public Health) co-authored a new publication, "Sociodemographic Disparities in Utilization of Childbirth Education," in the Journal of Health Care for the Poor and Underserved. Co-authors include former UNLV professor Tricia Gatlin.
Jennifer Vanderlaan (Nursing) co-authored a new publication, "Early Perinatal Workforce Adaptations to the COVID-19 Pandemic." The study focused on early pandemic response and ways to improve readiness.

Jennifer Vanderlaan (Nursing) co-authored a newly published study, "Challenges to Interdisciplinary Consensus for Evidence-based Practice with Water Immersion for Labor and Birth: A Systemic Review of Scholarly References."  The study was published in the newest edition of Health Sciences Review.
Alena Grewal and Karyn Holt (both Nursing) authored an article, “Comparison of 12-Hour Biweekly Versus 6-Hour Weekly Shifts on Fatigue in Student Nurses,” finding there was no statistical difference on fatigue in a 12-hour shift and a six-hour shift. Paul Thomas Clements (Nursing) was published in Evidence Technology Magazine. He authored an article, "Gang Migration to Rural and Suburban Areas: An Evolving Threat for Emergency Departments and Law Enforcement."
Angela Amar (Nursing) was one of the featured speakers at the American Association of Colleges of Nursing Diversity Symposium. The virtual November event focuses on advanced diversity and building more inclusive learning environments to help address health care inequities.

Joseph Gaccione (Nursing) was honored at the Public Relations Society of America (Las Vegas Valley Chapter) 2021 Pinnacle Awards.  Gaccione won two Pinnacle Awards for his nursing stories, "From Canada to Vegas" and "Scrubs and Spikes."  Joseph previously won in 2020 for Best Blog for UNLV School of Nursing's Rebel Nursing Notes.
