Whether you are a member of our campus communities or you are a visitor, we hope that your time on our campuses will be safe and productive. We are proud of the fact that our campuses have a low level of crime, but we are also aware that crime can occur anywhere, including the safe confines of a university campus.
Patrol: Auto, Bicycle, Cart, and Foot
Patrols create a visible presence on the campus, making University Police Services accessible and readily available when needed.
Communications & Dispatch
The Emergency Communications and Dispatch Section is the center of emergency communications for our department and campus. It is a state-of-the-art communications facility that operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Emergency Preparedness
The Office of Emergency Management strives to keep the campus prepared for all types of hazards, ensuring that personnel are trained to respond and building campuses and community resilience for quicker recovery.
Investigations
Our police detectives review every report taken by the department’s police officers to evaluate the potential for follow-up. University Police Services’ detectives are required to contact all victims to discuss their cases, obtain additional information, and explain the feasibility of the cases being solved.
Students Cadets
The Student Cadet program was established to augment police services available to the university community and has served UNLV for more than 20 years providing approximately 200 hours per week of direct service to campus. The program constantly strives to improve and adapt to the ever-growing and evolving UNLV campus community.
Special Event Services
These units/services provide new ways to protect and serve during special times of need. Special events security is available for a fee.
