Stay Safe on Wheels with UNLV’s Campus Riding Guide

Wheeled devices such as scooters, bikes, skateboards, golf carts, and roller skates make getting to class faster and contribute to a greener campus. Using these devices calls for a collective commitment to uphold safety and respect for the entire campus community.

It’s essential to be aware of your surroundings, adhere to designated areas, and operate these devices responsibly as we navigate shared spaces. Let’s all do our part to maintain a secure and respectful campus environment. Here are a few important things to keep in mind when using wheeled devices.

Riders should:

  • Yield to Pedestrians and keep a safe distance
  • Wear a helmet – always!
  • Not use phones and/or earphones while riding
  • Lock and secure your scooter when not in use
  • Register your wheeled device with University Police

A maximum speed limit of 15 mph exists on all UNLV property. Riders should reduce speed or walk in heavily congested areas. Riding near building entrances should be avoided. Wheeled devices are also not allowed on Pida Plaza in recognition of its namesake’s legacy.

Riders are responsible for any damage or injury caused to themselves or others. For additional details, please refer to UNLV’s Use of Wheeled Conveyances policy.
