President's Holiday Village - Register Now to Volunteer or Host a Resource/Activity Table

The Holiday Season is upon us and with it comes a wonderful opportunity for our campus and community to provide holiday cheer to those less fortunate in our community!

In what has become a campus tradition over the past seven years, UNLV, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, United Movement Organized Kindness, and many community resource providers will join together to host the annual President’s Holiday Village, on December 14, 2024, in Lot R on the UNLV campus.

The primary purpose of this community-wide event is to provide holiday cheer and ensure no child in Southern Nevada goes without a holiday gift. The secondary purpose is to help connect campus and community resources with those who reside in underserved households.

In addition to the toy distribution and Resource Fair components, the event will also include a Holiday Festival, complete with bounce houses, face painting, balloon artist, music, holiday characters, a mobile pet therapy yard, and several opportunities to interact with First Responders and their vehicles.

As a campus, our goal is for every college, school, and unit to help support this event in one of three ways, as follows:

Host a Resource Table - Resource tables will provide a platform to share information about resources available at UNLV with event attendees, with a particular emphasis on resources for youth and/or for those who reside in underserved households.

Register to host a resource table here.

Host an Activity Table - Activity tables will provide a platform to facilitate table-top activities appropriate for youth and/or adult attendees. These activities need to be simple and short in duration, and can be educational and/or fun.

Register to host an activity table here.

Volunteer – Nearly 100 volunteers are needed to greet and direct event attendees, staff registration and information tables, facilitate games and other event-related activities, and to help set-up, maintain, and clean-up the event. There are three volunteer shifts to choose from.

Register to be an event volunteer here.

Please consider what your college, school, or unit can do to support this effort and then formalize your commitment by completing the registration process via one of the portals above, no later than November 22.

If you have any questions, please reach out to the Office of Government and Community Engagement via email, UNLVCommunityEngagement@unlv.edu.

Thank you, in advance, for helping us demonstrate how Rebels Make It Happen!
