Accomplishments: School of Dental Medicine

Jordan Ringer, Bryan Morrison, and Karl Kingsley (all Dental) published their research, "Evaluation of Hyaluronic Acid to Modulate Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma Growth In Vitro" in the upcoming issue of the Journal of Functional Biomaterials. Ringer and Morrison are Dental Medicine students who plan to graduate in 2021.
John Colombo (Dental) co-authored “Innovative Molecular and Cellular Therapeutics in Cleft Palate Tissue Engineering,” which appeared in the September issue of Tissue Engineering Part B: Reviews, and “Modeling Hypoxia Induced Factors to Treat Pulpal Inflammation and Drive Regeneration,” which appeared in the Journal of Endodontics.
Nareh Eshgian, Tanya Al-Talib, Stanley Nelson, and Neamat Hassan (all Dental Medicine) published a clinical research study on "Prevalence of hyperdontia, hypodontia, and concomitant hypo-hyperdontia" in the Journal of Dental Sciences. Philip Hyunbae Son, Ah Reum Yoo, Fiona Britton, and Karl Kingsley (all Dental) published their research, "Differential Effects of Methylisothiazolinone (MIT) on Dental Pulp Stem Cells (DSPC)" in the upcoming issue of the Journal of Medical Discovery. Son and Yoo both are students who plan to graduate in 2021.
Andrew Graves and Karl Kingsley (both Dental), along with Sukdeep Sandhu, '20 DMD,  published their research "Expression of miR-720 is Correlated with DNMT3 in Oral Squamous Cell Carcinomas" in the journal ExRNA. Graves will graduate from the DMD program with the class of 2021.
Dr. James Mah (Dental) co-authored “Effect of Botulinum Toxin Injection on Asymmetric Lower Face with Chin Deviation,” which appeared in Toxins as part of a special issue addressing the application of botulinum toxin in clinical medicine.
Jeffrey Ebersole (Dental) co-authored “Gingival Tissue Autophagy Pathway Gene Expression Profiles in Periodontitis and Aging,” which appeared online ahead of print in the Journal of Periodontal Research.
Jeffery Coon, Karl Kingsley and Katherine Howard (all Dental) published their work "miR-365 (microRNA): Potential Biomarker in Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma Exosomes and Extracellular Vesicles" in the latest issue of the International Journal of Molecular Sciences. Coon is a dental student who is planning to graduate in 2021.
Dr. Stanley Nelson (Dental) authored the 11th edition of Wheeler’s Dental Anatomy, Physiology & Occlusion, which is part of the vital source packet for School of Dental Medicine students.
