A new manager instructed Mantz and her colleagues to take the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator test, which revealed she’s an INFJ: intuitive, enthusiastic, impulsive, and prone to improvisation.

For the students of the Las Vegas High School Mariachi Joya, their excitement for class is palpable. “It’s something I always look forward to every day, picking up my instrument and playing,” the group’s Student Director, Axel Rodriguez-Olivas says. The UNLV-bound student says his dream is to teach mariachi music to others, and, luckily for him, he’ll now be able to further his mariachi education without having to leave the valley. UNLV will be offering its first mariachi program starting this fall, led by Las Vegas High School’s Mariachi Joya Director Stephen Blanco.

Community groups are working with Tropicana Las Vegas on preserving historic and sentimental pieces ahead of the resort's closure next week.

The board also renewed the four-year contract for UNLV President Keith Whitfield. During his time as president, graduation rates have increased and Whitfield has focused on removing unnecessary roadblocks in student services, optimizing financial aid, and enhancing the enrollment process.

A week after closing its doors, it was reported that the Neon Museum and UNLV will preserve the historical heritage of the Tropicana Hotel, which will give up its land to build the next Las Vegas baseball stadium.
