The number one spot in our top 10 monthly most-read chart has been retained by Zemedikun and colleagues. The authors’ analysis of chronic conditions that are associated with periodontal disease has impressively placed top of the most-read chart for the last four months. However, we also have four new entries into the top 10 most read during November.

As the meetings and events industry collectively exits the Large Hadron Collider particle accelerator of a year that was 2022, our job in this annual look back is to chart the significant milestones that slid by as we hurtled back to the ballroom. While meeting professionals stumble to our battered feet and dust ourselves off in preparation for throwing our checklists into the next superconductor cycle, our goal is to make sense of the blur of images and snippets of conversations before they are lost to the ether.

Higher education takes time, and people along the way can doubt you. Stick it out. That’s the message Maria Ramos Gonzalez has for her fellow graduates this week at UNLV.
When Mark Stokes, a scientist based at the University of Oxford, signed off for good from Twitter this past weekend, he announced that he wasn’t just leaving the social-media platform. He said he was leaving the “whole show,” as in preparing to die. As Stokes poignantly shared in his tweet, “I’ve been battling cancer last 2 years, but now only have a few days left now. Thank you wonderful people, I leave this crazy world with much love in my heart.”
