With several award winners from film and TV, the actors and actresses on this list debuted in a variety of unlikely roles. Even though they were cast in parts that now seem so unlike them, they all became accomplished actors. Some have even achieved the status of movie icons. Here’s a look back at their curious cinematic debuts.

Toymaker Mattel wants to get kids’ attention, and it’s going online to do it. The company announced this week it will spend at least $10 million on advertising this year on Google’s YouTube Kids platform. It’s the company’s biggest ad buy online to date.

Frequently cited as one of the top health law scholars in the nation, Dr. David Orentlicher is joining the UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law. Orentlicher, a graduate of Harvard Medical School and Harvard Law School, most recently taught at Indiana University’s law and medical schools and served in the Indiana House of Representatives from 2002 to 2008. He was candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives, Indiana’s 8th Congressional District, in 2016, finishing behind the winner by only 64 votes in the Democratic primary in which 58,476 votes were cast.

Health care options for thousands of Nevadans narrowed significantly Monday after health insurer Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield — one of the largest health insurance companies in the U.S. — announced it would withdraw from Nevada’s Obamacare state exchange in 2018. Fourteen counties in Nevada are at risk of not having an insurance provider on the state’s individuals insurance exchange in 2018.

The victim, a 20-something-year-old woman, is found outside a bar after being attacked. When she arrives by car at the hospital emergency room, she appears woozy, has very low blood pressure, and her heart and respiratory rates are both well above normal. She could die if her injuries aren’t diagnosed quickly and accurately.
