The Economics major at UNLV provides students with opportunities to pursue high-quality academic research through the development of data analysis, econometrics, and analytical reasoning. ECON 495 (Seminar in Economic Research) serves as a capstone course where students complete an original research paper. Excellent papers are invited to be presented at the Undergraduate Research Symposium and/or published in a peer-reviewed journal such as Spectra, UNLV's undergraduate research journal.
