The Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) will perform a comprehensive accreditation visit to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, from April 2-4, 2025. UNLV is currently regionally accredited through NWCCU. Accreditation was last reaffirmed in February 2021 following a Fall 2020 Mid-Cycle Report and site visit. UNLV currently has no outstanding recommendations.

The upcoming Year Seven Evaluation of Institutional Effectiveness (EIE) site visit aims to assess UNLV’s compliance with NWCCU accreditation standards and eligibility requirements. Accreditation is a process in which external evaluators review the university’s educational quality and institutional effectiveness, with a strong emphasis on student success. This process also involves a holistic assessment of the university’s policies and procedures, fiscal and human resources, and infrastructure, ensuring UNLV’s ability to fulfill its mission. During the site visit, an NWCCU peer evaluation team will meet with students, faculty, staff, and members of the NSHE Board of Regents. As part of the accreditation review, NWCCU invites public comment on the university’s qualifications for accreditation. Comments may be submitted directly to NWCCU through electronic third-party comment or by post to the NWCCU office via USPS or courier service at:
