Expanding academic support services by collaborating with students preparing to transfer to UNLV after graduation from CSN.

Mission

The mission of the UNLV/CSN Transfer Program is to expand academic support services by collaborating with students preparing to transfer to UNLV after graduation from CSN. These services include: 1) providing accurate and timely curriculum and policy information, 2) developing partnerships to coordinate resources, activities, and services across CSN and UNLV that enhance and simplify the process, and 3) empowering students to achieve their desired transfer goal and career objectives through the services provided by the office.All three UNLV/CSN Transfer Program locations are staffed with a UNLV Transition Advisor.

UNLV Transition Advisors

Roles of the UNLV Transition Advisors

  • Assist CSN students who intend on transferring to UNLV upon completion of their Associate’s degree: explaining UNLV degree requirements and processes.
  • Work with CSN academic advisors and counselors to ensure students meet requirements by the most direct path of the intended Associate’s Degree from CSN and the intended Bachelor’s Degree from UNLV.
  • Serve as a liaison with UNLV Academic Advising Centers, UNLV Admissions Office, and UNLV Financial Aid Office.
  • Lead UNLV group academic advising sessions.
  • Host UNLV college-specific workshops.
  • Provide global academic support for the smooth transition from CSN to UNLV.

Transfer Tuesdays

Are you interested in pursuing a bachelor's degree at UNLV? Please drop by one of our Virtual Transfer Tuesdays from 1 - 2 p.m. every Tuesday to learn about your options. Meet with a UNLV Transition Advisor to find out how your CSN credits will count toward a bachelor's degree and get your questions answered about the majors and programs at UNLV. Don't forget to ask your Transition Advisor about the UNLV CSN Transfer Scholarship!

UNLV/CSN Transfer Program Workshops

Join us at our upcoming UNLV/CSN Transfer Program (UCTP) workshops! The transfer workshops will cover the transfer process, application deadlines, campus resources, upcoming UNLV events, and how credits earned at CSN will transfer to UNLV. We will highlight important transfer information for the different UNLV majors. This workshop is an opportunity to meet a UNLV transition advisor and address any transfer questions. Our in-person workshop will also have a credit review.

UNLV/CSN Transfer Scholarship

The UNLV/CSN Transfer Program (UCTP) will award ten $1,000 scholarships each academic year. The application opens in mid-January and closes March 31st. Recipients are selected based on a review of the following:

  • Attended College of Southern Nevada
  • Admitted to UNLV and enrolled in 6 Credits
  • GPA 2.0
  • Transfer-related involvement
  • Professional development
  • UNLV & CSN Community Engagement 
  • Best candidate response
  • Future goals response
  • Resume

If awarded the scholarship, students must commit to two (2) academic semesters of involvement/interaction with the Rebel Transfer Student Organization (RTSO) and transfer community. Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 (six) credits throughout the scholarship disbursement period.

UNLV Transfer Admission Counselors

  • Assist students who intend to transfer to UNLV and complete a Bachelors Degree. 
  • Guide students through the application process by assisting with questions regarding transcripts, financial aid and scholarships,  immunization record, and involvement at UNLV.
  • Serve as liaison to other academic factions at UNLV and in partnership with UCTP help CSN students complete a smooth transition into UNLV.
  • The Transfer Team does not discuss students’ academic records; however, if you are a CSN student,  we connect you with our colleagues in UCTP.

UNLV Admission Appointments

A UNLV Transfer Admissions Counselor is available for in person or virtual appointments one day a week at each CSN campus. Please visit the UNLV Events Calendar and select Transfer College Visit/Event as the event sub-type to view and book 1:1 appointments with a UNLV Transfer Admissions Counselor when they are on your CSN Campus. You can also book a virtual appointment.
