Ahiddibah Tsinnie

Ahiddibah Tsinnie, '00 BA English, is the author of the recently published book Yes, I Took My Meds, a raw, intimate dive into finding peace amongst the chaos. Dive into Tsinnie's world of family, culture, and motherhood while navigating her way through the ins and outs of bipolar disorder. Her story is one of courage and learning from mistakes. She lives in North Las Vegas.    

Diane DIerks

Diane Shearer Dierks, '95 BA Communication Studies, is the author of a new novel, Back to Life. In the book, protagonist Kate Mulligan is given a chance to relive her life. After a fatal accident, she is told she can have a do-over and begin again as a child, only this time with the wisdom she learned the first time around. Intrigued and convinced she can remedy a lifetime of mistakes, Kate opts to go back to 1976, the year her 9-year-old brother drowned. Dierks, who also is the author of another novel and two non-fiction books, donated some of the royalties from this latest book to Atlanta-area food banks. She lives in Dacula, Georgia.    

Tamia Dow

Tamia Dow, '87 BA Criminal Justice, is a filmmaker who creates socially conscious films addressing community issues such as veterans, homelessness, mental illness, domestic violence, sex trafficking, and child cyber stalking. Her award-winning sex trafficking awareness drama  “Why Should I Care ? “ has been screened at film festivals and for private groups. She also is a writer, director, and producer as well as a best-selling author and a professional development trainer. While at UNLV she served in the Army ROTC and the Nevada National Guard. After graduation she served as a military police officer in the Army. Now, she is a director on the board of the UNLV Alumni Veterans Club. From 1989 until her retirement in 2012, she was an officer in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Her last assignment was as a domestic violence detective.  

C. Dean Milne

C. Dean Milne, '81 BS Biology, has practiced internal medicine in the Las Vegas Valley for 32 years. He is associate dean for clinical studies and professor of medicine at Touro University Nevada College of Osteopathic Medicine and also clinical faculty at Roseman University School of Health Science. He also is founder and director of medical education for Valley Hospital Medical Center's graduate medical education program. He oversees the program's 84 residents in the following fields: internal medicine, family medicine, neurology, orthopedic surgery, gastroenterology, and pulmonary critical care. He was appointed by Nevada Govs. Bob Miller, Jim Gibbons, and Brian Sandoval to the Nevada State Board of Osteopathic Medicine. He and his wife, Donna Grimaldi Milne, '98 Undergraduate Certificate in Radiology,  have three children, all of whom also are UNLV alums, Erica Milne-Gold, '00 BSBA - Finance, Michael Milne, '05 BSBA - Finance, and Natalie Milne-Burns, '06 BA Psychology. They have nine grandchildren. Dean enjoys attending Golden Knights games and traveling all over the world with his wife. The couple lives in Henderson.

Rehan Hasan

Rehan Anwar Hasan, '95 BA History, is a business and tax attorney at Hasan, LLC, in Denver. He has been listed as “highly commended” by Chambers USA for the 2020 Diversity & Inclusion Lawyer of the Year award.

Kristi Dickinson

Kristi Dickinson, '05 MS Hotel Administration, was named general manager of Canyon Ranch Woodside (California). Dickinson brings more than two decades of luxury hospitality and wellness experience to the role of managing the wellness retreat. She joins the property from Rancho Valencia Resort & Spa in Rancho Santa Fe, California, where she was director of spa & wellness. She also has held key executive positions at the Mayflower Inn & Spa in Washington, Connecticut.; Spa Montage at the Montage Deer Valley in Park City, Utah; and the Golden Door Spa at The Peaks Resort in Telluride, Colorado.

Rick Arpin

Rick Arpin, '95 BSBA Accounting, has joined the board of directors for Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada. He is currently the managing partner of Las Vegas KPMG. The Junior Achievement board of directors is responsible for providing executive counsel, fund development, and supporting JA’s in-school programs, which focus on entrepreneurship, personal financial literacy and workforce readiness using experiential learning to inspire students to dream big and fulfill their true potential.

Laurens Vosloo

Laurens Vosloo, '02 BSBA Accounting and Management, has been named by the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians as CEO. He originally joined San Manuel in 2014 as chief financial officer (CFO) for San Manuel Casino. In his new role, he will be responsible for all day-to-day leadership and operations of San Manuel Tribal Government Operations, San Manuel Casino, and other entities. Most recently he had served as enterprise-wide CFO for San Manuel Tribal Government Operations and San Manuel Casino.          

Jeremy Burr

Jeremy Burr, '09 BSBA Finance and International Business, and Stephanie Beadle Burr, '08 BA Economics, had a baby girl in 2019. Jeremy works in EY's turnaround and restructuring practice. The family lives in Escondido, California.

Sam Taylor

Sam Mateo, ’16 M.Ed., authored her first book, The Coding Workbook, the first offline workbook for kids to learn web development. She used the skills gained during her curriculum design and instruction master's program to create The Coding Workbook curriculum. The workbook is perfect for at-home learning or classrooms unequipped with adequate technology to teach a coding class. It’s also an excellent resource for educators who need lesson plan support for web design. Packed with exercises, illustrations, and progress quizzes, this workbook makes coding accessible to anyone with a pencil. 

Steven Passmore

Steven Passmore, '03 MS Kinesiology, is a chiropractor and associate professor in the department of kinesiology & recreation management at Canada's University of Manitoba. In May, he was named Researcher of the Year by the Canadian Chiropractic Association. In 2019, he was appointed by the Canadian government's Health Canada to a three-year term on the Canadian Pain Task Force External Advisory Panel. He holds adjunct appointments in the College of Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Manitoba, and the research department at New York Chiropractic College. His sub-specialization in kinesiology is human perceptual learning and motor control. He explores performance-based outcome measures related to chronic spine pain conditions. His research looks at quantifying human movement to assess pain based on how an individual is able to move. He also has aided the Mount Carmel Clinic, a publicly subsidized clinic with a chiropractic program for people in poverty, through research and data collection since 2011, examining how patients with musculoskeletal pain respond to non-pharmacologic intervention. His hobbies include cold-climate viticulture, collecting fine art, and film making. He lives in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
