A sponsored project is not considered complete when the SOW is completed. Most sponsored projects require UNLV to complete several activities before the sponsor considers the project complete. These activities are often referred to as the closeout process.
There are various activities associated with closing out a sponsored project. There are usually final reporting obligations, financial reconciliations, and account closeout tasks that must be completed. This section gives a summary of closing an award and describes the process of disabling sponsored program accounts.
