Pre-College Programs

These federally funded programs provide services to low-income and first-generation students to inspire them to complete their secondary education and enter into postsecondary education. These programs are responsible for services, activities, objectives and academic achievement, as well as conceptualizing new programming to enhance middle and high school participants’ academic development and success.

College Programs

These federally funded programs assist low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented college students with persisting in their degree programs, earning postsecondary credentials, and enrolling in post-baccalaureate studies. While promoting high quality undergraduate experience through research, conference travel, civic engagement and service-learning, financial assistance and counseling, and many other services, these programs significantly contribute to institutional efforts for persistence, retention, and graduation.

Adult Programs

CAEO houses three adult-level federally funded programs with different objectives: Educational Opportunity Center is designed to assist low-income, first-generation individuals 19 years of age and older to pursue post-secondary education. Veterans Upward Bound program assists US military veterans with post-secondary program selection and preparation. TRIO Training Institute hosts professional development seminars for TRIO professionals across the nation.
