SCS Data Center Outage July 17-18

Network equipment in the System Computing Services Data Center is being replaced, which is necessary to maintain the campus network’s performance, reliability, and security. This routine maintenance will require a data center outage from 10 p.m. today, July 17 to 6 a.m. tomorrow, July 18.

What to expect during the outage

Campus services will remain available. However, users may experience brief interruptions with internet connectivity or delays accessing some campus applications, including the campus wireless network and MyUNLV.

Upcoming TBE data center maintenance

The same network equipment upgrade is planned for the Thomas T. Beam Engineering Complex Data Center, requiring an outage from 10 p.m. July 23 to 6 a.m. July 24. More information on what to expect for this maintenance window will be provided.

Anyone who has issues with their internet connection or accessing campus applications once the SCS data center work is completed on July 18 should contact the IT Help Desk.
