This fall semester, the university is experiencing a bump in attendance. Enrollment is projected to top 31,000 students and the university is slated to welcome a record 4,600 first time, first year students. About 84% of those new first-time students are Nevada residents. UNLV staff says the school continues to attract students from Hawaii and California.

This year, freshmen participating in 'Rebel Ready Week' will move into campus housing earlier than usual, getting a head start on their introduction to college life. Rebel Ready Week will take place from Monday, Aug. 21, to Friday, Aug. 25.

On Tuesday, UNLV began to welcome roughly 1,500 new and returning student residents. Among them, were freshman with mixed feelings about moving away from home.

Despite the national trend of rent up by as much as 15% year to year in June, housing costs for students on the campus of UNLV appear to be in check.
Often lauded as a recession-resistant asset class, the student housing sector was able to add another feather to its cap over the course of the past year, proving that it is also pandemic-resistant.
