Accomplishments: William S. Boyd School of Law

Professor Lori Johnson (Law) was elected to the Board of Directors of the Legal Writing Institute (LWI), the leading organization of legal writing professors. LWI supports legal writing teaching and scholarship, as well as works to improve the status of legal writing faculty nationwide.
Nantiya Ruan (Law) was one of eight law professors that submitted an amicus brief to the U.S. Supreme Court in the City of Grants Pass v. Johnson case, on the compelling history and context necessary for protecting the rights of unhoused people to allow them to live with dignity.
An article, "Cops or Coaches? The Statutory Role of Juvenile Probation Officers in a Transformative Age," co-authored by Justin Iverson (Law) and David Tanenhaus (Law/History) has been published in the Michigan State Law Review. 
Benjamin Edwards (Law) presented a working draft paper at a symposium last week at the University of Illinois College of Law. Professor Courtney Cross (Law) presented on "Parenting Under Siege: Reckoning with Coercive Control" as part of the University of California, Irvine's Initiative to End Family Violence. 
Professor Mary Beth Beazley (Law) gave several workshops on Logic and Opinion Writing for the National Judicial College's training on March 13 and 14 at the Thomas & Mack Moot Court.
