Accomplishments: Department of Psychology

Shane Kraus (Psychology) and members of the International Sex Survey Consortium recently published a paper, "Problematic pornography use across countries, genders, and sexual orientations: Insights from the International Sex Survey and comparison of different assessment tools," in the Addiction. 
Nirmala Lekhak (Nursing), Tirth Bhatta (Sociology), and Joel Snyder (Psychology) collaborated with other colleagues to publish "Meditation, Compassionate Love, and Mental Health in Later Life." This study underscores the need for contemplative interventions that foster compassionate love to improve mental health in later life.

Bailey Way and Shane Kraus (both Psychology) recently published a scoping review, "Conceptualizations of Craving and the Pornography Craving Questionnaire: A Scoping Review," in Current Addiction Reports. 
On February 7, 2024, Shane Kraus (Psychology) was part of an expert panel, Sports Betting and Gambling Addiction, hosted by SciLine and American Association for the Advancement of Science.  
Graduate students Richard Chang and Aldo M. Barrita, along with their faculty advisor Gloria Wong-Padoongpatt, (all Psychology) published an encyclopedia entry titled, "Race (Racism)," in Wiley-Blackwell Encyclopedia of Sociology, 2nd Edition.
