UNLV Virtuosi Strings, composed of both faculty and students, will perform works from J.S. Bach, Purcell, Telemann, and Robert Fuchs.

The program includes 'Prelude and Liebestod' from Tristan and Isolde, featuring Eric McAllister as guest conductor, and 'Symphonie Fantastique' by Hector Berlioz, conducted by Taras Krysa.

Butler, currently head of the department of music at Valdosta State University, begins his new role July 1.

The concert, performed by the American Prize Award-winning orchestra, takes place in the Artemus W. Ham Concert Hall.

This all-UNLV alumni band will perform a program of original compositions and arrangements by noted alum Dennis Mackrel, featuring trumpet soloist Kenny Rampton.

The Miró Quartet is one of America’s most celebrated and dedicated string quartets. The evening's program includes works by Mozart, Schumann, and Brahms.

The Boston Brass, an incomparable and world-renowned brass quintet, partners with the Wind Orchestra to record the world premiere of Five Cities by UNLV alumnus Jorge Machain.

All events are free and open to the public.

The orchestra is conducted by music director Taras Krysa.

On March 22, the ensemble will perform compositions that depict energies, emotions, memories, or personal voyages.

The winner receives $5,000 and is invited to UNLV during the fall 2023 semester to work with College of Fine Arts students, and to an event celebrating the award.

Based on the novella by Henry James, this operatic version tells the story of an inexperienced governess who believes something evil is stalking two young children left in her care.
