The UNLV Wind Orchestra presents the 6th Annual “The President’s Concert" at 7:30 p.m. on November 17 in Artemus W. Ham Concert Hall. The concert is a special celebration of the military heroes, first responders, and public servants who help keep our nation safe, as well as the incredibly honorable Las Vegans who have been awarded the French Legion of Honor.
In addition to numerous accolades over the years, the orchestra recently was named the second prize winner for The American Prize Ernst Bacon Memorial Award for the Performance of American Music, College/University ensemble division, 2021.
"The President's Concert" features Thomas G. Leslie, artistic director and conductor; guest conductors Col. John R. Bourgeois, director emeritus, United States Marine Band, “The President’s Own,” and Zane S. Douglass, UNLV visiting assistant professor of conducting.
