The UNLV School of Music presents the five-time American Prize Award-winning UNLV Wind Orchestra in “Espresso Express” composed by UNLV alumnus Jorge Machain at 7:30 p.m., Feb. 24 in Artemus W. Ham Concert Hall. The concert, conducted by professor Thomas G. Leslie, will feature Grammy Award-winning drummer Bernie Dresel. The UNLV Wind Orchestra also will feature the world premiere of the composition titled TwentyTwentyWon, composed by UNLV Division of Wind Band Studies professor Anthony LaBounty.
Highlights of the concert includes: Howard Hanson’s Symphony No. 2 Romantic, Op. 30, transcribed by associate conductor of the UNLV wind orchestra, Zane Douglass, and Wendell Yuponce’s Il Maestoso.
