The UNLV Wind Orchestra presents “Danza Rebelde" at 7:30 p.m. on April 11 in Artemus W. Ham Concert Hall. The concert is conducted by artistic director & conductor Thomas G. Leslie, with associate conductor Zane Douglass, and doctoral conducting assistants Ocean Akaka, Charles Greggerson, and Scott McGlasson. The event features guest soloist Laura Taylor.

In addition to numerous accolades over the years, the orchestra was named the second-prize winner for The American Prize Ernst Bacon Memorial Award for the Performance of American Music, College/University ensemble division, 2021, and most recently won the Global Music Award for Outstanding Achievement for the release of their newest album, Joe's Tango. The group is one of only two collegiate wind ensembles to win this award in 2023. Additionally, the wind orchestra has been awarded second place for the Ernst Bacon Award multiple times over the past seven years.
