Grammy-nominated, internationally acclaimed Swedish clarinetist H?kan Rosengren performs at 7:30 p.m. Friday., April 4, in the Doc Rando Recital Hall. The concert is free and open to the public. Nanako Urase accompanies on piano.

The concert features the works of Francis Poulenc, Otto Olsson, Bohuslay Martinu, Claude Debussy, Robert Schumann, and Johannes Brahms.

Rosengren has performed as concerto soloist throughout Europe and the U.S. and in Brazil, Israel, China, and South Korea. He has toured worldwide as a recitalist and chamber musician, and performed at a variety of music festivals, including Santa Fe, La Jolla, Ojai, Moritzburg (Dresden), Haifa (Israel), and Warsaw Autumn. Since 1997 he has been a member of the artist-faculty at Festival Hill in Round Top, and is the artistic director the Fayetteville Chamber Music Festival since 2006. Rosengren is currently professor and artist-in-residence at California State University, Fullerton.

Urase earned her bachelor of music in piano performance from Kobe College in Japan. She also studied in Vienna and Budapest, and in 2002, came to the U.S. to study at California State University, Fullerton, where she completed her master of music in piano performance, earning the Graduate Pianist Award.
