Catch UNLV's award-winning music students in action during UNLV Spring Jazz Festival April 29 - May 1.
The talented UNLV School of Music, Division of Jazz and Commercial Music students won three prestigious 2019 DownBeat Magazine Student Music Awards:
- Graduate College Outstanding Performance Large Ensemble for Jazz Ensemble I
- Undergraduate College Small Group Outstanding Performance for the Honors Trio
- Graduate College Small Group Outstanding Arrangement for Jorge Machain.
The UNLV Jazz Studies program has earned 20 DownBeat Student Music Awards since 2010. These awards are considered among the highest recognition in jazz education worldwide.
Concert information
The UNLV Spring Jazz Festival is April 29 - May 1 in the Black Box Theatre. All concerts begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are available through the UNLV PAC Box Office website or by calling 702-895-ARTS (2787). Tickets are $10 for general admission, $8 for seniors and military with ID, and free for students with ID.
Monday, April 29 — Jazz Guitar Ensemble, Jazz Vocal Ensemble, and Jazz Ensemble III
Tuesday, April 30 — Contemporary Jazz Ensemble and the Latin Jazz Ensemble
