University of Nevada, Las Vegas School of Nursing earned a spot among the country's top 10 percent of online graduate nursing programs according to the 2014 U.S. News & World Report of best online graduate degree programs.
The school's Masters of Science in Nursing program ranked 10th out of 130 surveyed programs that offer curriculums entirely online.
U.S. News ranked online nursing programs in four distinct areas: admissions selectivity, faculty credentials and training, student engagement, and student services and technology. Peer institution ratings were also considered.
This is the second time UNLV School of Nursing has appeared among the list's top 20 programs, which U.S. News began in 2012.
"We continually seek feedback from students, and implement new techniques to enhance our online graduate programs," said Carolyn Yucha, dean of the UNLV School of Nursing. "Our efforts help students from around the country receive individualized attention from our highly qualified faculty members, enabling them to connect personally with their instructors and develop a deeper understanding of the material."
The school's master's program offers two tracks--family nurse practitioner and nurse educator--that prepare advanced clinicians and educators in nursing to serve the health needs of the community and educate future nursing care providers.
UNLV School of Nursing offers all of its graduate level courses online, including a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in collaboration with the University of Nevada, Reno.
