The UNLV Performing Arts Center welcomes the Axiom Brass Quintet -- featuring Dorival Puccini Jr., Matthew Oliphant, Kevin Harrison, Colin Oldberg, and Caleb Lambert -- at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, in the Dr. Arturo Rando-Grillot Recital Hall as part of the UNLV Chamber Music Series.
Praised for its clean, clear, and precise sound, the award-winning Axiom Brass Quintet has quickly established itself as one of the major players in brass chamber music. The groups's internationally recognized programming ranges from jazz and Latin music to string quartet transcriptions.
Axiom is the only brass quintet in 27 years to ever win the prestigious Chamber Music Yellow Springs Competition (2012) and the only American ensemble to ever win the Preis der Europa-Stadt Passau in Germany (2012). The group also won top honors at the 2008 International Chamber Brass Competition, 2010 Fischoff Chamber Music Competition, the Plowman Chamber Music Competition, and the Jeju City International Brass Quintet Competition in South Korea. The Axiom Brass is dedicated to enhancing the musical life of communities across the globe and educating the next generation of musicians.
Tickets
Tickets to Axiom Brass are $25, and can be purchased at the Performing Arts Center Box Office at 895-ARTS (2787) or online at pac.unlv.edu.
Student rush tickets are $13 each (not inclusive of the facilities fee), and available one hour prior to each event, based on availability and with valid student I.D. UNLV faculty and staff discounts also are available. A $1.50 facilities fee, in addition to the ticket price, is charged on all Performing Arts Center tickets.
The box office is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

About the PAC
Founded in 1976, the Performing Arts Center at UNLV is Southern Nevada's original performing arts venue, celebrating nearly 40 years of arts in Las Vegas. Located on the north end of the UNLV campus, the PAC hosts a variety of performances and is home to the Charles Vanda Master Series.
