UNLV Opera presents the effervescent operetta Die Fledermaus at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 8 and 9 in the Dr. Arturo Rando-Grillot Recital Hall of the Beam Music Center. The longtime audience favorite by Johann Strauss II will be sung in English.
Keri Rusthoi and Mariah Wilcox star as Rosalinda opposite Aldo Perrelli and Alex Price as Eisenstein. Nichole Jarlson and Dominique Mendez play Adele, Adonis Abuyen and Phillip Harris are Falke, while Rabuel Aviles and Erin Gonzalez portray Prince Orlofsky. Christopher Martin and Ranon Pador alternate as Alfred, with Emily Clements and Hunter Rose Turner as Sally. Richard Hodges as Frank, Kurt Sedlmeir as Frosch, and Daveon Bolden as Dr. Blind round out the cast. Jae Ahn-Benton is the pianist while conductor professor David Weiller leads the UNLV Chamber Chorale. Stage director professor Linda Lister has inserted excerpts from other operettas within the famous Strauss waltzes to add even more levity and frivolity to Fledermaus, already full of champagne and silliness.
Tickets are $10, $8 for seniors/military/faculty/staff, and free with Student ID. Call the UNLV Performing Arts Center box office at 702-895-ARTS (2787) or visit the box office online.
