The UNLV Jazz Ensemble I and the Latin Jazz Ensemble perform in concert at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, in Artemus Ham Concert Hall to celebrate the release of their newest CD, "Characters."
Members of the UNLV Latin Jazz Ensemble, and its director, Uli Geissendoerfer, won the prestigious 2015 DownBeat Magazine Student Music Award for Latin Group in the undergraduate college category. The ensemble competed against top universities worldwide for the honor. This is the eighth DownBeat Magazine Student Award for UNLV Jazz Studies students since 2010.
