The UNLV department of film and the Short Film Archive sponsor the 10th annual 48-Hour Short Film Contest from Friday, Nov. 8, through Sunday, Nov. 10.
The filmmaker entrants arrive at 6 p.m. on Friday and are given four elements that must be used in the film: a genre, a prop, a character and a line-of-dialogue (everyone gets different elements by blind draw). Entrants then have 48-hours to write, cast, shoot, edit & score their shorts using these four randomly selected elements. They then return to the UNLV campus 48 hours later to screen their completed films for judges. The Sunday screening is 6-10 p.m. in CBC A-106 on the campus of UNLV. It is free and open to the public.
Rules & Regulations and entry forms on Facebook or call David Schmoeller at 702-895-2535. Entry deadline is 5 p.m., Friday, Oct. 25.
