The Barrick Lecture Series presents nationally and internationally renowned speakers through a generous grant from philanthropist Marjorie Barrick.
Fareed Zakaria was described as “the most influential foreign policy adviser of his generation” by Esquire magazine. He is the host of Fareed Zakaria GPS, a 2012 Peabody Award winning and Emmy-nominated show on CNN. It has become the network’s flagship international affairs program and a destination for those seeking smart commentary and civil conversation about the big ideas and global challenges of our time.
Zakaria has published several best-selling books including international best seller The Post-American World, The Future of Freedom and his most recent book, In Defense of a Liberal Education, which debuted at #6 on The New York Times best sellers list.
Born in India and educated at Yale and Harvard, Zakaria became the youngest managing editor of Foreign Affairs magazine at age 28. He is currently a contributing editor at The Atlantic and Washington Post columnist.
