The UNLV Performing Arts Center hosts a job fair from 1 to 6 p.m. Aug. 25 in the lobby of the Artemus W. Ham Concert Hall on the campus of UNLV. Working for the UNLV Performing Arts Center is fun and rewarding, and they offer flexible schedules and a warm, friendly atmosphere. Team members help present the arts and other events to audiences from around the Las Vegas valley and beyond.
They're hiring people for the upcoming 2021-2022 performance season. The following positions are open:
Bartenders
Performing Arts Center bartenders provide excellent service while delivering beverages to our patrons. Other responsibilities include (but are not limited to) stocking products and preparing for opening, closing, and cleaning the bar areas. Bartenders are supervised by the guest relations manager. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and have or obtain their alcohol awareness and food handler safety cards before working a shift.
Box office ticketing agents
Performing Arts Center ticketing agents provide excellent customer service while assisting patrons with their ticketing needs. Customer service and cash handling experience are helpful in this position, but not required. Ticketing agents are supervised by the guest relations manager. Candidates should be detail-oriented with flexible schedules and able to work nights and weekends.
Stagehands
Performing Arts Center stagehands provide excellent client service while working with a team to prepare for and execute an event based on client needs. Applicants should have sound, projection, and/or lighting experience and be able to lift more than 50 pounds, kneel, twist, and bend. Applicants who can act decisively without supervision during event execution are preferred. Stagehands are supervised by theatre technician II’s and the technical director.
Ushers
Performing Arts Center ushers ensure our patrons have a safe and enjoyable experience. Ushers prepare the house for our guests, take tickets, distribute programs, direct patrons to their seats, and assist disabled patrons, among other tasks. Customer service experience is helpful for this position. A smile and friendly demeanor is a must. Ushers are supervised by house managers and the director of marketing & patron services.
Interviews will be conducted on the spot at the job fair, so please come prepared.
