The UNLV Performing Arts Center presents the David Orlowsky Trio - "The Soul of Klezmer" - at 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 2. Klezmer, a musical tradition of the Ashkenazi Jews of Central and Eastern Europe, evolves with this German trio who exemplifies curiosity for new sounds and musical exploration.
The David Orlowsky Trio has established itself as a pioneer in the field of world music. The trio mostly composes their own music, which they refer to as "chamber world music." The winners of the ECHO Classical Award have wowed audiences at New York City's Carnegie Hall, the Berliner Philharmonie, the Lucerne Festival, and other venues around the world.
The musical partners of the David Orlowsky Trio have been Daniel Hope, Per Arne Glorvigen, Avi Avital, the actor Dominique Horwitz, among others.
Tickets
Tickets to the David Orlowsky Trio — "The Soul of Klezmer" — are $20-$70 and can be purchased at the Performing Arts Center box office or by calling 702-895-ARTS (2787). Student rush tickets are $15 each (not inclusive of the facilities fee), and available one hour prior to each event, based on availability and with valid student I.D. UNLV faculty and staff discounts also are available. A $1.50 facilities fee, in addition to the ticket price, is charged on all Performing Arts Center tickets.
The box office is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Information about all of the season’s performances can be found on the Performing Arts Center website.
About the PAC
Founded in 1976, the Performing Arts Center at UNLV is Southern Nevada’s original performing arts venue, celebrating 40 years of arts in Las Vegas. Located on the north end of the UNLV campus, the PAC hosts a variety of performances and is home to the Charles Vanda Master Series.
