The Nevada Conservatory Theatre presents Shakespeare's beloved comedy "Much Ado About Nothing" Oct. 2-11 in the Judy Bayley Theatre. Michael Lugering directs.
The gloves are off and a comic love story is in the making as Shakespeare sets a lovers' trap for Benedick, a sworn bachelor, and Beatrice, his favorite verbal sparring partner.
Lugering is a master teacher of voice, movement and acting at UNLV and has spent more than 15 years researching the physical, psychological, behavioral and aesthetic aspects of human expression. His book The Expressive Actor: An Integrated Method of Voice, Movement & Actor Training is published by Heinemann Drama Books. He has served as a professional voice coach for the Utah Shakespearian Festival and the NCT.
The cast includes Equity Actor Clint Brandhagen as Benedick; Amber Bonasso as Beatrice; Rachel Gilyard as Hero; Sam Cordes as Claudio; Richard Munchkin as Antonio; Jack Lafferty as Prince Pedro; Bernhard Verhoeven as Don John; Stefanie Resnick as Conrade/Friar Francis; Myles Lee as Borachio; Kelly Hawes as Margaret; Kayla Gaar as Urusula; Darek Riley as Dogberry; Stephon Pettway as Leonato; Maurice Palmer as Balthasar; Garrison Lopez as Watch 1; and Carson Wilson as Watch 2.
The production and design team includes scenic designer Roxy Mojica, lighting designer Manuel Ramirez, sound designer Joey Jevne, costume designer Jennifer Van Buskirk, technical director Chloe Joy, projections design Kelsey Booth, and stage managers Cassidy Bonifacio and Robert Acosta.
