The Nevada Conservatory Theatre presents the Charles Dickens' holiday classic "A Christmas Carol" Dec. 3-13 in the Judy Bayley Theatre. Brian Vaughn directs.
The charming story of Ebenezer Scrooge who thinks Christmas is 'humbug' until he is visited by the spirits of Christmas past, present, and future is a treat for the whole family.
Vaughn is co-artistic director of the famed, Tony Award-winning Utah Shakespeare Festival. He began his history with the Utah Shakespeare Festival as a student at Southern Utah University. Starting as a journeyman actor in The Greenshow in 1991, he has since acted in more than 40 roles, portraying a slew of diverse leading roles including Hamlet, Henry V, and Cyrano de Bergerac. He has also served as education assistant, director, and actor for the National Endowment for the Arts Shakespeare in American Communities Tour; director and actor for the New American Playwrights Project; host of the Costume Cavalcade; instructor for various Festival classes; and panelist and guest speaker for the Wooden O Symposium.
Armin Shimerman stars as Ebenezer Scrooge. He is best known for his roles on "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine," "The Hitcher," and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer."
