The Nevada Conservatory Theatre (NCT) opens its 2019-20 season with the musical Fun Home Oct. 4 - Oct. 13 in the Judy Bayley Theatre. Lauren Blair directs. Book and lyrics by Lisa Kron with music by Jeanine Tesori.
After her father suddenly dies, Alison delves deep into her past to tell the story of her uniquely dysfunctional childhood. At the center of her young world is her volatile and brilliant father whose secrets defined her family and her life. Through her explorations of the past, Alison grows to understand her own sexuality. This groundbreaking musical, based on the best-selling graphic novel by Alison Bechdel, won five Tony awards, including Best Musical. “Heart-gripping and cathartic, Fun Home occupies the place where we all grew up” (The New York Times).
The cast includes Tatum Rajsky as Alison; Carmen Maher as Medium Alison; Holly Reichert as Small Alison; Glenn Heath as Bruce; Blake Heller as Christian; Allison Rajcevic as Helen; Kristina Kirkpatrick as Joan; Jacob Weiss as John; and Jeremy Dawson Mullen as Rob/Bobby.
The production and design team includes assistant director Alan J. Stogin, musical director Dr. James Whiting, scenic designer Trevor Dotson, lighting designer Kirt Siders, sound designer Rosalie Chaleunsouck, costume designer Gabrielle Lewis, technical director Matthew Ginovski, and production stage manager Jenn Holland.
