The Nevada Conservatory Theatre at UNLV presents Alan Ball's "Five Women Wearing the Same Dress" in the Black Box Theatre Apr. 4-13. Rayme Cornell directs.
During an ostentatious wedding reception at a Knoxville, Tenn., estate, five reluctant, identically clad bridesmaids hide out in an upstairs bedroom, each with a reason to avoid the proceedings below. As the afternoon wears on, these five very different women joyously discover a common bond in this wickedly funny, irreverent, and touching celebration of the women's spirit.
The cast includes Ashley Bufkin as Frances; Rachel Gilyard as Meredith; Jasmine Mathews as Trisha; Jennifer Johnson as Georgeanne; Samantha Murphy as Mindy; and Dakota Baker as Tripp.
The production and design team include scenic designer Megan Morey, lighting designer Elizabeth Kline, costume designer Rose Scarborough, technical director Kaitlyn Johnson, and production stage manager and properties master Jade Calagawan.
Show times are at 8 p.m. on April 4, 5, 9, 10, 11 & 12. Matinees are at 2 p.m. on April 6 and 13.
