Marjorie Barrick Museum of Arts Hosts Zine 101 Workshop Oct. 5

Join us for an all-ages, in-depth workshop covering what it takes to create a zine, including tools, layout, content, printing/binding, distribution, and more.

The Zine 101 workshops at UNLV's Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art walk participants through the step-by-step process of designing, binding, and distributing a DIY publication.

The Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art once again hosts the Zine 101 Workshop 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5. This all-ages, in-depth workshop covers what it takes to create a zine, including tools, layout, content, printing/binding, distribution, and more. Step-by-step, collaborating as a group, participants walk away not only with a new understanding of DIY culture, but with a zine, they helped make! 

Participation is free and materials will be provided.

The Las Vegas Zine Library has found a new home at the Barrick Museum of Art. Compiled by local zine custodians Jeff Grindley and Stephanie Seiler, the library encompasses eccentric and intimate home-made publications from all around the globe. Formerly housed within the walls of downtown's Emergency Arts behind the departed Beat Coffeehouse, the zines are available for browsing at their new location during normal museum hours.

Entry to the Barrick is always free. All are welcome. Parking is free at UNLV every Saturday. Park in metered, staff, or student spots at no cost.
