The UNLV Performing Arts Center proudly presents its third in a series of student performances — bassist Alyssa D'Anduono performing pieces from Bottesini, Koussevitzky, and Bach, at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 13. The concert is presented in partnership with the UNLV School of Music.
D’Anduono is a double bass performance major currently attending UNLV on a music scholarship. She is in the second year of her bachelor’s degree, and has been playing bass for over eight years. She started playing violin at the age of 5, learning a variety of instruments until finding her passion in the double bass. She graduated from Las Vegas Academy in 2019 as an orchestra major. During her time at LVA she participated in Solo and Ensemble, receiving superior scores each year, LVA’s Concerto Competition, reaching the final round, and NMEA’s Honor and All State Orchestras. She participated in The Dr. Shirley Linzy Las Vegas Young Artist Orchestra of Las Vegas for four years, a program that enriched her orchestral experience. Throughout her music career she has performed in a variety of concerts such as the Beethoven 250 Concert Series, and a variety of venues, for example the Musikverein in Vienna, Austria. She has also had the great opportunity of touring in the Bay Area and Sacramento, performing chamber music with a quintet at over 25 retirement/assisting living homes.
Alyssa currently studies under renowned bassist and UNLV professor Brycen Ingersoll. In her free time she enjoys baking, crocheting, playing video games, and rollerskating.
