Please join UNLV doctor of musical arts candidate Dafne Guevara for a very special flute convocation at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13, in the Doc Rando Recital Hall of the Beam Music Center. The performance celebrates the Panamanian Flute Festival she single-handedly organized and presented July 3 -Aug. 4. Through nothing but perseverance and tenacity, Guevara organized more than 60 students from around the world to attend the festival that included UNLV flute professor Jennifer Grim, as well as other acclaimed professional flutists and educators. The event is free and open to the public.
