The Beethoven 250 Project performs its final UNLV concert at 4 p.m. Oct. 17 in the Rando-Grillot Recital Hall of the Beam Music Center. Conceived by music professor Mykola Suk and presented by The Investment Counsel Company in cooperation with the UNLV College of Fine Arts, the Beethoven 250 Project has been a two-year series of concerts celebrating the 250th anniversary of Beethoven's birth and the lasting influence of his works. Each concert is performed by top-rate local musicians, including UNLV faculty and members of the Las Vegas Philharmonic.
The concert is free and open to the public. No tickets are required.
The final program honors the late Camille Duskin and Bruce Berry. Selections include Piano Sonata No. 14 in C-sharp minor Quasi una fantasia, Op. 27 No. 2 (Moonlight); Sextet in E-flat major, Op.81b for 2 Horns, 2 violins, Viola and Cello; and Piano Concerto in D major, Op. 61a. Performers include Mykola Suk, piano; Bill Bernatis. horn; Beth Lano, horn; Oleh Krysa, violin; Rebecca Ramsey, violin; Hanna Suk, viola; Andrew Smith, cello; and Geoff Neuman, double bass.
