Award-winning Argentine author Alicia Steimberg will give a reading from her works on Nov. 3 at UNLV as part of the University Forum lecture series.
Steimberg, who will give her reading in English, is making UNLV one of four stops on an American university tour before heading to Guadalajara, Mexico, where she will be the featured writer at the Latin American Book Fair.
Her presentation at UNLV is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in Frank and Estella Beam Hall, Room 241. It is free and open to the public.
Steimberg received the Sudamericana Planeta Award, one of the most important prizes annually presented for Latin American literature, for her novel, "Cuando digo Magdalena."
For her novel, "Amatista," she won Spain's Tosquet sonrisa vertical award.
Steimberg is also the author of the novels "Musicos ye relojeros," "La loca 101," "Su espiritu inocente," and "Como todas las mananas."
While at UNLV she will meet with some of the university's creative writing students.
