Super Bowl 58, held at Allegiant Stadium on February 11, achieved all sorts of superlatives, including an estimated 330,000 people visiting for the weekend and an estimated net spending impact between $500 million and $800 million. Gamblers in Nevada wagered a record $185.6 million on the game, up 21% from the previous year, and Harry Reid International Airport screened on all-time single-day record of 104,000 passengers the Monday after the game. And Las Vegas’ first Super Bowl was the most watched TV program of all time, averaging 123.4 million viewers across all platforms and elevating the tourist destination’s already impressive global awareness.

In just three years, local business owner Alexandra Lourdes has grown her TikTok following from zero to 1.9 million. The co-founder of Café Lola and Saint Honoré Doughnuts & Beignets uses the social media platform to give a “behind the scenes look” at what it’s like to be the owner of a restaurant and a working mom. The app has allowed her to reach more people and helped grow her business.

The U.S. Department of Education (ED), in coordination with the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), announced new efforts today to expand high-quality and affordable pathways into teaching, as well as to increase pay and strengthen working conditions across the early childhood, K-12, and higher education workforce.

Local students are one step closer toward their business careers after winning a big scholarship. Fifth-graders at Fay Herron Elementary School competed for a $15,000 donation through the Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada's (JASN) entrepreneurship program.

Young artists brought their vision to life on the largest screen in Las Vegas. The Sphere XO Student Design Challenge invited 30 UNLV students and 30 CCSD high schoolers for art training events. Selected artists used a VR headset pre-loaded with XO Creator to design artwork on the Exosphere, the Sphere's 580,000 square-foot LED exterior.
