Caesars Entertainment and UNLV announced they will build a gaming and hospitality technology innovation space, complete with mock hotel rooms, a casino floor and sportsbook.
While some casino companies are content with stifling new development, Caesars Entertainment is looking to the future and is enthusiastic about innovation. It has connected with the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) to launch the Black Fire Innovation center, a hub designed to focus on innovation and education for the casino and hospitality industries.

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and Caesars Entertainment have linked-up to create Black Fire Innovation, a 43,000 square foot technological hub designed to test and showcase new gaming and hospitality concepts.

On Monday, April 29, UNLV and Caesars Entertainment announced the formation of the new “Black Fire Innovation,” a technology hub they describe as a place where new gaming and hospitality concepts will be created and tested.

Gambling exists in every state, even Hawaii and Utah, where gambling is prohibited by law. But not all gamblers are the same. “Recreational” or “social” gamblers, for instance, buy the occasional lottery ticket, take the rare casino trip or bet small stakes in fantasy sports. But they also are mentally able to quit at any point and prevent catastrophic financial loss.

A love of science and the study of medicine fueled Dr. Rooman Ahad’s career and led her to a role as assistant professor of pediatric neurology at UNLV’s School of Medicine. She is now part of an effort to expand autism services in the Las Vegas Valley and raise awareness through education and events such as the Grant a Gift Autism Foundation Race for Hope 5K, which was run April 27 at UNLV.
