What makes Team Las Vegas successful? In the team’s latest video various team members discuss the qualities that set Team Las Vegas apart from 19 teams around the world and that make DesertSol a truly unique home design.
The video was filmed and edited by members of the team and features students with academic backgrounds ranging from architecture and engineering to construction management. It also highlights the diversity within the team and the passion that all of the students involved have for educating the public on the importance of creating sustainable homes that respond to the environment in which they are built.
The U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon 2013 is an international competition with the goal of educating the public about energy-saving residential designs. It requires collegiate teams to design, build, and maintain sustainable solar-powered houses. These are student-run projects, with the guidance and support from faculty members, industry mentors, and community supporters.
