Richard Miller (Music), Katrina Liu (Teaching and Learning), and Arnetha F. Ball (Stanford Graduate School of Education) have published an article in the journal Thresholds in Education, 46(1) titled, "Misunderstanding the Campaign Against CRT: Absurdity and White Supremacy in Attacks on Teaching and Teacher Education."
Part of a special issue, "Investigating the Hysteria Around Critical Race Theory" edited by Cheryl E. Matias (University of Kentucky), this article was inspired by the work of historian George Mosse (1918-1999) on German anti-Semitism to argue that the apparent absurdity of current attacks on Critical Race Theory masks a fundamental continuity with the history of disaster capitalism in U.S. education organized in service to White supremacy, and thus efforts to counter such attacks should not be mislead into underestimating the phenomenon.
